Ryerson School of Interior Design and Drechsel Studio Present: Bench for 2

Ryerson School of Interior Design and Drechsel Studio present ‘Bench for 2’. The exhibition features a selection of bench prototypes designed by 3rd year students from the Ryerson School of Interior Design’s Furniture Design curriculum led by Professor Jonathon Anderson.

The exhibition is a culmination of an internal design competition that commenced in September 2017 with schematic design presentations and a detailed review process from an industry driven multidisciplinary design panel.

‘Bench for 2’ prototypes consider proportion, scale, anthropometry and ergonomic factors. Benches are made of Ash wood and are required to seat two people in an indoor environment. Winning selections and student conceptual work are on display during the Toronto Offsite Design Festival at Drechsel Studio.
