Rugby In The Square

Rugby In The Square sets out to paint the town yellow in promoting rugby as a leader in equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility through sport around the region and around the world as Rugby enters its 200th year.

Rugby In The Square (RITS) invites Toronto to wear yellow to help paint the town yellow, the official worldwide colour of inclusion. With yellow representing inclusion it is a great way to bring attention to Rugby’s leadership in this area, particularly as it pertains to sport.

The event is co-hosted by Rugby Ontario and Toronto Inner-City Rugby Foundation (TIRF) and sponsored by PUMA Canada, Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart Charities, Metro Supply Chain and Toronto Arrows.

In the heart of Toronto, this flag Rugby event will include a diverse group of corporate teams and a Mixed Ability Showcase. Three turf pitches will be set up for 5 on 5 action in the middle of Nathan Phillips Square where a series of matches will be taking place throughout the live event to a final championship round followed by a team after-party.

This is a one-of-its-kind event that promotes the philosophy of Mixed Ability Sport: diversity, social inclusion, equal opportunities, and access to healthy life-style choices for all.

The Mixed Ability Showcase is in partnership with Abilities Centre and community clubs that are leading the introduction of Mixed Ability Rugby in Canada.

Free to attend. See it. Play it. Live it.
