Raptors Home Opener Tailgate Party
The Toronto Raptors will host a free Home Opener Tailgate Party
Presented by Tangerine for the NBA Champions’ first regular season game versus the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday evening.
Fans at the Tailgate Party will witness and celebrate the raising of the championship banner to the rafters at Scotiabank Arena a long with the historic pre-game ceremony including championship rings being handed to players, coaches and front office staff.
With the help of The Raptor, Mayor John Tory will also officially unveil the Raptors Way signs as a part of the pre-game celebration. Following the team’s historic championship run, the City has ceremonially renamed Bremner Boulevard (between York Street and Lakeshore Boulevard West) as Raptors Way.
The 2019 Nuit Blanche Raptors TwoFive installation “Peace to the Past, Reach For the Future,” created by artists Esmaa Mohamoud and Bryan Espiritu, will be relocated inside Maple Leaf Square during the Tailgate Party for a special fan experience.
Ahead of the 8 p.m. tipoff, fans in the Square will be able to enjoy pre-game programming with numerous giveaways, partner activations, a live DJ and special guests. Fans in attendance will also have the chance to win exciting prizes including tickets to the game at Scotiabank Arena.
The one of a kind viewing experience includes a new and improved 62 x 35 feet LED screen, which is 37 per cent larger than the previous one in Maple Leaf Square.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early as space for the Tailgate is limited.
