This month Queer Fear goes back to a “simpler” time: 1954. A time when ‘Man’ felt he was being threatened, the scariest thing was outsiders, and Americans were ready to show off their military might to keep their place at the top. Wait, what year are we talking about?

Part intense mystery, part all out camp sci-fi, this Creature Feature tells the story of a group of Americans trying to uncover who - or what - is tearing apart New Mexico, causing destruction and murder in its wake.

“THEM!” remains one of the most memorable and entertaining creature feature/invasion movies of the 1950’s, a sub genre of horror films that grew from the Cold War and the establishment of the ‘nuclear family’.

Join us for an evening of 1950’s camp as we break apart and discuss a sub genre of horror that bares just as much relevance today as it did more than sixty years ago.
