Poetry Workshops

April is National Poetry Month! To celebrate, we are hosting two poetry workshops at the Anansi Bookshop.

The workshops are for writers of all levels, from first-timers to seasoned artists. We will work with prompts to produce poetry to be shared and taken home. All supplies will be provided.

The workshops will take place on Monday, April 8, and Wednesday, April 24, for two hours, from 6 p.m.–8p.m. (SHARP!).

The participation fee is $16 per person, with a capacity of 20 attendees per workshop. You are welcome to attend one or both!

Tickets are available for purchase here: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/poetry-workshop-tickets-59131280251

Washrooms are gendered with accessible stalls. The Anansi Bookshop is down three stairs. It can be accessed by a ramp and elevators at the back of the building. If this route is needed, please contact us so that we can provide an escort.

Additionally, please contact the host, Vannessa Barnier, if the workshop fee is a barrier to your participation.

These events will be hosted by local community organizer, Vannessa Barnier. Vannessa is a poetry instigator and facilitator, the host of the summer open mic reading series Legible Intelligibles, a bookseller at House of Anansi, and an attendee of the 2019 Juniper Summer Writing Institute intensive.
