Photography Workshop

Do you love taking pictures? Do you want to make them even more awesome?

Photography is a lot of fun, but it can be frustrating when the shot doesn’t turn out as expected. Improve your results by learning how to take control of your camera in this four-hour, hands-on photography workshop.

In this session, you will discover the secrets of your own camera’s technical controls, described in straightforward, comprehensive terms. You will practice changing the settings, and discover how making simple adjustments can alter the look of a photo. You will also learn how work with indoor lighting and natural light.

Who: For those with an interest in photography, ages 17+.

Instructor Bio: Lisa Binnie

Lisa Binnie is a multidisciplinary artist who examines and documents landscapes-in-transition. Her projects are long-term, immersive and experiential, involving close observation, research, and making. Since 2011, Lisa has been documenting Toronto’s industrial Port Lands, whose landscape is currently being re-engineered to provide flood protection, and facilitate development.

Lisa is the Fine Arts Studio program coordinator at Centennial College, and teaches photography and fine arts classes at Centennial, and Haliburton School of Art + Design.
