Pas de Deux: Ballet Workshop with Marq Frerichs

Pas de deux is a classical ballet term meaning “a step for two.” It is a duet that is usually performed by a female and male dancer. The work includes assisted turns and jumps, and lifts.

Pre-requisite: 3+ years of ballet experience

Note: Intermediate-Advanced level adults welcome and Level 2-4 teens welcome.

Friday, January 3 , 5-7PM

Saturday, January 4, 2-4PM

Fee: $28 for one or $50 for both

*Joy’s registered Adult RAD students may use any unused make-up classes for these workshops. They can also use their RAD Jump-in passes to pay for them.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Marq Frerichs recieved his teaching diploma and Cecchetti Associate - both awarded with honours - from Canada's National Ballet School in 2013, and has continued his work there in both the Professional Ballet Program and the Teacher Training Program. He is a certified instructor in Progressive Ballet Technique, levels 1-3.

Frerichs began his training at the George Brown School of Dance at age 11, continuing on to the Professional Program at Canada's National Ballet School (1982-85). His international career in dance has since led him to the Stadt Theatre Ulm in Ulm, Germany where he worked under Perre Wyss, on tour with Cirque Du Soleil throughout North America and Japan, and partnering with Celine Dion for The Colour of My Love - North American Tour.
