Partners in Art: All the Beauty and the Bloodshed
Winner - Golden Lion, Venice Film Festival, 2022
Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Laura Poitras (Citizenfour), Oscar nominee All the Beauty and the Bloodshed is an epic, emotional and interconnected story about internationally renowned artist and activist Nan Goldin told through her slideshows, intimate interviews, ground-breaking photography, and rare footage of her personal fight to hold the Sackler family accountable for the overdose crisis. “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed takes the two elements—Nan Goldin’s art and her activism—and shows you how they’re actually woven together in richly suggestive ways. The film salutes her activism, presenting it as the lively tale of a whistleblower, but also uses it to reveal her art” (Variety).
Join co-producer/film subject Megan Kapler, film subject Harry Cullen and moderator Kari Hollend for a post-screening Q&A. Megan and Harry are organizers with the NYC-based direct action collective, P.A.I.N. (Prescription Addiction Intervention Now) since 2018.
