Through his paintings, Avery Gibbes explores the experience of feeling like an outsider after entering a new environment, and does so by following a made-up story about a small number of humans that suddenly find themselves in an alien world. The work follows these humans as they learn and grow within this world, and the paintings continuously explore and build the world within which this story is taking place.
