The Prints of Alanis Obomsawin

Guest Curator: France Trpanier

Alanis Obomsawin, a member of the Abenaki Nation, is one of Canadas most distinguished filmmakers. For the past 25 years, she has also worked as an engraver and printmaker, creating an important body of work, which has been exhibited in Canada and Europe. These visual artworks often deal with the same subjects as her films, but on a completely different note. This exhibition will show Alaniss contrapuntal art practice, revealing a world where memory and dreams evoke the spirit of animals and humans in the context of historical events.

Anne Abbass: Moments In Time

Moments in Time utilizes the type of spontaneous images made possible by the ubiquity of smartphones. Abbass captures the temporary day-to-day changes the seasons bring in the lawn and gardens of her neighbourhood and creates permanent works of art often infused with print media.
