An expert panel tries to answer questions about how to start a collection of photography.
The panel talk will be followed by a Q&A.
Robert Boudreau is a founder of the SPARK Photo Festival in Peterborough and its’ acting Festival Director. The SPARK Photo Festival takes place annually in April and is currently in its 6th festival cycle. Robert is self-employed as a creative, operating as fireklix imaging & design.
Robert is a graduate of Trent University, where he studied Philosophy & English. Over a 40-year career, Robert has been a business owner, photographer, writer, restaurant reviewer, graphic designer, marketing manager, producer of TV advertising, and a community arts organizer.
Robert has participated in numerous solo and group photographic exhibits. His design, photography, and writing has been published in numerous magazines, newspapers, and books. Robert refers to himself as a rogue collector. Over time, with no intent of his own, Robert has acquired a collection of 120 or more photographic prints.
Rita Godlevskis is the new Publisher/ Editor of Canada's, PhotoED Magazine. She has more than ten years of experience in photography based, creative media work, in Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. She has worked across multiple platforms with a diverse range of projects in her portfolio in editorial, creative production and marketing contexts. Rita has a Masters in Creative Media from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia, specialising in photography, and has exhibited her work internationally.
Melanie Trojkovic is Gallery Director at LUMAS Gallery, Toronto, and has worked with the company since they first launched in Vancouver three years ago. With a Masters in Art Curating from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor of Arts in Photography from Deakin University in Melbourne, Melanie has extensive experience working in various contemporary and photographic art galleries and fairs in Vancouver, Melbourne, and Amsterdam for the European Manifesta Biennial.
Sonja Scharf has been a practising artist and photographer for over 25 years. Her overall vision from which she conducts her business is guided by her formal art education and a passion for a variety of art forms. Her background combined with co-proprietor of Akasha Art Projects, Kelly Kyle's background of producing, curating and handling art allow Kelly, Sonja and their team to understand the individual needs of each client.
This culminates in a finished product that contributes to the aesthetic of each image and its environment.
