NO MAN'S LAND
November marks the 20th anniversary of Toronto pioneer DJ MEDICINEMAN and his legendary radio mix on CIUT 89.5 FM!
For this milestone party, the No Man's Land spirit of diversity through community transcends the airwaves into a performance feast for the senses of INTERACTIVE ART, DANCE, STILTING, AERIALS, HOOPING, LIVE MUSIC, VISUALS and of course GLOBAL ELECTRONICA.
Hot off their sold out exhibit, the TORONTO VISIONARY ARTIST COLLECTIVE are set to dazzle us with interactive live painting and body art, alongside the hypnotic stylings of JAY TRIPPER framebows, and VJs SEKS + VESSEL's outerworld imagery. Electro violin madman DR. DRAW takes us on an eastward journey with his latest project featuring beatbox champion SCOTT JACKSON and the 6IX STIX, the official RAPTORS drum core! What?!? All set against a sensual CALABRA decor backdrop and Global Bass maestros SOOHAN, the MEDICINEMAN himself + Globetrotter fellow resident SYNAPPS.

In keeping with the lore of the No Man's Land radio mix, Stephen is set to take us on a multi-faceted journey across the globe, pulling from the traditional music of various cultures and the depths of our nostalgia. The man has developed somewhat of a cult following across the U.S. with such dancefloor anglings as trapped out Turkish folk music. Prepare for take-off!

Opening the festivities with a deep journey into ethno electronic realms, the man of the hour needs no introduction. He has a hard-earned Master's Degree in Ethnomixology, his radio output has been among the top of the heap across the planet for 2 decades, he has played and produced countless world class events locally and abroad, and is a cultural ambassador and educator in the industry. With unity through diversity as his guide, Richard's mantra is simple... music is our medicine.

Sabrina Elizabeth Kalli Somethings. She works in a variety of mediums for different reasons and feels that moving images keep painting a picture, while the mind is still processing what it sees. In this way the viewer might become less attached to interpreting what the eyes record and more in tune with the emotion of the moment... some things are more than just things.
