NIGHT SHIFT // 172 // Ciel x Korea Town Acid x Milu & Redmond
Well, this is it, the final Night Shift inside Edenhall. Our team wants to extend a thank you to Peter, Tara, Rusty and Chris for making us feel like family and giving us the opportunity to bring our party through your doors. You've graciously worked with us through the highs and lows to build what is now an amazing community and we can never thank you enough for it.
So with this closure brings the next chapter of Night Shift in our new home Friday Roots & Vibes. Located at 876 Dundas Street west. Donny and the staff there are amazing people and we know you'll feel the same Night Shift spirit that we cherish so much within our new partnership.
But back to the this Wednesday, closing it all out at Eden we welcome a two of Toronto's most talented women and biggest underground musical exports, Ciel and Korea Town Acid.
Ciel is a force to be reckoned with: in the past years, besides honing a unique flair as a DJ and music maker, she has single-handedly pushed her home Toronto scene into a more inclusive one through her radio show, parties and awareness-raising. As a DJ, Ciel is as passionate as they come, digging for an expansive spectrum of genres disregarding the rules set by the most conservative players, showing her crowds her rainbow of influences with a skillful and thoughtful flow.
Korea Town Acid has been creating a buzz in the Toronto dance music community with her focused, captivating live shows and eclectic DJ sets. As a classically trained pianist with a passion for improvisation and sonic experimentation, Jessica Cho transcends the dance floor into a wholly unique avant garde journey. Over the last few years Cho has proven her versatility in dozens of Toronto venues performing solo, and with former live house duo CHOBO. She has released a variety of tracks on labels such as Arachnidiscs, Archi-textures, Toy Tonics from Berlin, Sercret Jams from Bulgaria, and her solo EP on Toronto's Mikita Skyy. Her dynamic and consistent DJ sets and as well as her expressive live excursions have made her one of the most in demand electronic acts that the city has to offer.
Warming things up are the eclectic sounds of Night Shift's own Mìlu and Redmond. Journeys through classic house, techno, electro and left field are how these two do it, and damn do they do it well.
