Despite the frigid temperatures that required the entertainment schedule to be shortened, thousands of residents and visitors came together at Nathan Phillips Square to celebrate the new year and be part of the final send-off to a year-long celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday. Families bundled-up and skated on Toronto’s famous outdoor ice rink to the sounds of DJ Jessy Lanza throughout the evening and enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display at midnight to welcome 2018.
