Navette's Place
Navette’s Place is a pop-up installation, exhibiting portrait style paintings by Toronto artist's Iman Bhatti, Malcolm Emilio, Curtia Wright and Brendan Yhip
Located in Rusty Hinge’s brick and mortar shop, contemporary and socially marginalized subjects are displayed with distinct identities created through the depiction of their sex, race, clothing and body position.
Distressed pastels, beautiful rustic furnishing and vintage-style décor create a home where the painting’s subjects are mantled on to walls and resting atop furniture, quietly inhabiting the space.
Navette invites guests into its fictitious home to meet the characters on display and to enjoy a momentary refuge of colour, art, and comfort. Original artwork will be for sale, as well as official prints. All furniture and décor displayed will also be available for purchase through Rusty Hinges.
