On Saturday, Mayor Olivia Chow will be joined by elected officials and special guests Brittlestar and Flavio Volpe to celebrate National Flag of Canada Day at an event featuring a flag-raising ceremony and a special performance of “Welcome to the Rock” by the cast of the original Canadian production of the multi-award-winning global sensation Come From Away. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Canadian flag.

The public is invited to attend this free event, with attendees encouraged to show their Canadian pride by wearing red and white. There will be free hot chocolate, food trucks, and a made-in-Canada ice sculpture meeting. Following the flag-raising ceremony, a skate party will take place on Nathan Phillips Square.
