Eastern European Romantics

Music Mondays is very pleased to welcome back Sheng Cai to perform on our new Steinway. Sheng made his debut with the Toronto Symphony at the age of 15. Since then, he has performed widely as a chamber musician and recitalist and in concerto performances with numerous major orchestras. Many of his performances have been broadcast by the CBC. His program will showcase two of the 20th century's musical wonders, with their unabashed romanticism merging with modernism at the beginning of the 20th century: George Enescu's Sonata No 3 in D Major, and Rachmaninoff's Moments Musicaux Op. 16.
