Music At The Barns
Music At The Barns is a free, COVID-safe, family-oriented evening of music featuring four local music acts representing a cross-section of musicality. The evening will feature:
• Pantayo: An all-women kulintang ensemble, Pantayo combines percussive mettalophones and drums from kulintang traditions of the south Philippines with electronic and synth-based grooves;
• Samba Squad: From its early roots as a community-based drumming group to headlining Salsa on St. Clair, Samba Squad is now one of the most dynamic acts in Canada;
• Oldies 990!: Rockin’ and rollin’ all around Toronto with their renditions of the Golden Oldies from the 1950s and 1960s;
• Daniel Nebiat: An amazingly talented young musician from the state of Eritrea, Daniel is passionate and dedicated to his music and fans.
David Bidini, publisher of West End Phoenix community newspaper, will keep things running smoothly as the evening’s host. As a founding member of the Rheostatics, Juno nominee Bidini is no stranger to great music.
While the grown-ups are tapping their toes to the music, the kids can meet with children’s entertainer “Bootsy” with her artful and engaging energy with arm painting and balloon animals.
There will be seating for seniors, but families and friends are invited to bring their own chairs, along with picnic blankets and baskets.
Music At The Barns will be held outside Barn 5 at Wychwood Barns in the St. Clair West Community. Everyone is welcome.
