Model Railroad Club of Toronto 85th anniversary shows

Model Railroad Club of Toronto celebrates its 85th Anniversary this year!

Since 1938 MRCT has welcomed thousands of visitors to Canada's premier O scale model railroad. Moving to the Curity Avenue location in 2013, the new layout incorporates innovative design and state of the art technology.

Inspired by the Central Ontario Railway, the railway captures the flavour of Central Ontario including industries and natural features, and by naming passenger cars after towns along the original route.

The Club appeals both to a child’s sense of wonder and discovery and an adult’s interest in technology, artistry and history. Trains pass through cities, towns and countryside of the Central Ontario Railway, popping in and out of tunnels and crossing overhead bridges. Visitors can explore model railroading techniques that range from homemade to 3D printing. The club uses true-to-life (prototypical) switching, signals and dispatching of passenger and freight trains, which are controlled digitally, and connected with wifi.
