When Cameron Post is caught with another girl in the back seat of a car on prom night, she is promptly shipped off to God's Promise, a religious boarding school, to undergo conversion therapy. 

Alongside other youths "struggling with same-sex attraction," Cameron is subjected to outlandish disciplinary and "de-gaying" techniques — but also finds an unlikely community of peers.
