LOPOW: Sheridan Furniture

An exhibition of work by the 2019 graduating class of Sheridan’s Bachelor of Craft and Design Furniture Program.

‘LOPOW’ (lights off, power off, windows) is an acronym for shutting down the studio at the end of the day. Through long nights, dusty days, and thousands of board feet of lumber, we have been united by the diversity of design within a foundation of making. As we leave the studio at Sheridan, we enter a broader community of designers and makers in Toronto and beyond. Lights on, power on, work….

Each piece in the exhibition represents an individual approach by this group of makers as a response to the challenges of creating functional and beautiful objects that resonate with contemporary practice.
