Longest Night Salon X Coffin Factory

~ In anticipation of the Winter Solstice ~

Join us at This Month Only Artspace for a salon-style Exhibition and Sale of small works from 30 Toronto-based artists. – Longest Night Salon is co-produced by Nicholas Silvani, Laura Hudspith and Morris Fox, in collaboration with François A Côté. 

This Month Only is a project space located inside a street level mixed-use unit in downtown Toronto. The building known as The Coffin Factory and all of its residents, recently received official eviction notices for March 2019, marking the end of this long-standing cultural hub. The gallery was named ‘This Month Only’ as a reflection of the tenuous position of the building and its tenants, a space that up until recently, had been slated for demolition and condominium development for several years, but without a definite date. We along with hundreds of other artists and cultural workers will soon be forced to leave our studios, galleries and live-work spaces. What was named to reflect an ellipsis, will soon be a full stop. 

In reference to both a historic mode of hanging and discursive atmosphere, Longest Night Salon aims to encourage a rich and critical discourse and a strengthening of community during this one-night-only exhibition. In honour of Salon A Côté, another important Toronto project space also recently having met its end by eviction, This Month Only has invited its former director, François A Côté, to work collaboratively in the production of this show. All works are small scale and priced at 200 and under, with one hundred percent profits going directly to our artists.
