Kicking off our 11th season, Long Winter is excited to announce the official launch of Hypercity. On Nov. 19, 2022, resident and commissioned artists throughout so-called Canada will premiere new augmented reality works exploring meanings of land sovereignty, settlement, migration and surveillance in an increasingly digital world. Alongside commissioned projects from Hiba Ali, Casey Koyczan, and Linda Zhang, from August through October, Cassraa, Cheyenne Rain LeGrande ᑭᒥᐊᐧᐣ, Malik McKoy, Vasuki Shanmuganathan and Shonee have been in residence with Hypercity developing their practices for AR over a series of artist-led workshops.
