Hope and Me in collaboration with The 519, is now offering a FREE DBT skills-building group for 2SLGBTQ+ youth (18 to 29 years old) to improve mental well-being through managing challenging thoughts and feelings.

Developed by Marsha Linehan, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) is a form of psychotherapy that helps people manage intense emotions and improve relationships. What “Living a life worth living” means is focusing on your values, goals, and wants despite facing challenges in life circumstances. It is about finding meaning and purpose and making decisions that lead to greater fulfillment and connection to others.

Living A Life Worth Living: DBT Skills For Youth aims to break down the stigma surrounding mental health in the 2SLGBTQ+ community by providing a safe space to meet and discuss mental health challenges with peers while learning the four pillars of DBT: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation. As a participant, you will also have the unique opportunity to provide valuable feedback and contribute to the future improvement of this program, receiving a certificate and references to recognize your involvement upon completion.

Living A Life Worth Living: DBT Skills For Youth is an 8-week program, taking place at The 519, located at 519 Church St, Toronto, ON M4Y 2C9. Two weeks will be spent on each of the topics. If you are interested in joining us, please register for a minimum of one module!
