MICHAEL OCCHIPINTI is a versatile sound sculpting guitarist and composer who has spent decades freely moving between genres such as jazz, chamber music, world music, rhythm and blues, funk, and anything involving modern guitar sounds. A nine-time JUNO Award nominee celebrated nationally for his fearlessness in imagining and realizing new projects, Michael leads several acclaimed groups and his sets incorporate everything from the music of songwriters such as John Lennon and Bruce Cockburn, to the funky grooves of The Meters and John Scofield. Critics call him a “chameleon” and his playing “magical” for his unique ability to get a variety of unique sounds out of his guitar.
