Leathercraft Essentials: Belt Making Workshop

Join us at Leather & Sewing Supply Depot for a hands-on belt-making workshop where you'll learn fundamental skills of leathercraft. Our expert instructor Joel [@_regalmarkleather_] will guide 8-10 participants through the basic step by step fundamentals of leather work and the tools used to make a quality leather belt.

The class will go over techniques such as:

- Leather selection

- Strap cutting

- Sizing

- Edge burnishings (rounding of the edge)

- Hardware setting

This is a beginners class, no experience needed however all experience levels are welcome. Price of class includes materials and use of all tools needed to make this project.

Bring a personal belt of yours that fits well as this will help save time on sizing and provide a better fit.

Joel is a Toronto-based Leathersmith specializing in leather accessories. Having struggled to find quality leather accessories like wrist cuff bracelets in Toronto, Joel discovered the art of custom leather work online, but nothing was available locally at the time. Intrigued by this uncommon craft and the market demand In Toronto, Joel used his construction and carpentry background to teach himself the leather trade. Fuelled by the spirit of rock 'n' roll and the pursuit of design with attitude, Regal Mark Leather was born!

The fine print: the workshop will run if a minimum number of 8 participants join, so get your friends to join in the fun too! If the minimum number of participants is not reached 2 days before the event date, the event will be cancelled and all tickets refunded less Eventbrite fees.
