This event will be a part of the Microsoft Store Fall Championship ft. League of Legends. Gather your team of 5 for a 5v5 Summoner’s Rift Tournament and put your skills to the test in this first-of-its-kind experience!

Join your local League of Legends community and compete for exclusive in-game prizes and your chance to win the Ultimate Cloud9 Experience. ALL players taking part in this tournament will gain access to League Unlocked*. Competitors will earn an additional 50% XP at the end of the matches (visible as a segment of the IP bar on the post game screen), in addition to having 141 champions and 117 skins unlocked.

This event is FREE for all players. All skill levels are welcome.

FAQ

How can I secure my spot in the Phase 1 - Qualifiers tournament?

IMPORTANT: This tournament is first come first serve, and we can only allow the first 10 teams to arrive at the Microsoft Store Yorkdale Mall during registration time from 11:00am - 12:00pm on September 14th 2019. Only 1 team representative is needed to secure your team’s spot (and receive a placeholder card), however all team members must be present by 12:00pm in order to compete. If all team members are not present by 12:00pm for the opening tournament announcements, unfortunately we will have to forfeit the spot to the next team in the waitlist line with all team members present. You’re welcome to line up earlier than 11:00am to better your odds of competing, just let a store associate know you’re present for the tournament.

Do I need a full team of 5 players in order to compete?

Yes, in order to compete you will need a full team of 5. See question above for additional notes.

What is the format for the Phase 1 - Qualifiers tournament?

Tournament Draft, Single Elimination, BO1. If we have enough time during Phase 1 Finals, we may possibly do BO3 instead of BO1.

What’s included in the Ultimate Cloud9 Experience?

Day of event winning team will be signed to a 1 day contract, participate in a meet and greet/invite only experience with the Cloud9 team and 1-2 games playing WITH Cloud9 (not against) in New York City. Flights, Hotel and food are all paid as part of the prizing. The Ultimate Cloud9 Experience will take place on January 4th 2020.

What peripherals/equipment can we use for the tournament?

Laptop (ASUS ROG G752VT), headset, and mouse will be provided by Microsoft. However, you’re welcome to bring your own peripherals (mouse, headset, and/or keyboard).

SPECIAL NOTE: We can only accommodate one game at a time as we only have 10 laptops on site and we will do our best to give teams an estimated game time once the tournament bracket is made.

Can I use my personal League of Legends account for the tournament?

Players will use their personal accounts for all Phases of this tournament.

Can teams swap out players for each phase?

Yes. Teams are permitted 1 sub for Phase 2 and Phase 3. If a team qualifies for Phase 3, at least 4 of the players MUST have played on the same team in their Phase 1 match. Teams that are missing more than the guidance above will forfeit their spot in this program. It is at Microsoft Corp’s discretion if their spot will go to the next team.
