Special Guests: Rainos 'Moyo' Mutamba (mbira, voice) & Robin Hatch (piano)
Dr. Moyo
Dr. Moyo is a Gwenyambira - master player of the mbira instrument from Zimbabwe. Drawing from a large repertoire of ritual songs from ancient mbira music traditions, Moyo weaves together diverse sounds, where in one instance he harnesses the powerful sound of mbira connecting audiences with their meditative and spiritual cores and another he scratches the mbira luring audiences into serendipitous movement. Moyo accompanies the mbira with chants, yodels, poetry, and stories creating a true ceremonial space that is relaxing, joyful and healing.

Robin Hatch
Robin Hatch is a composer from Toronto, Ontario. Hatch’s compositional style is primarily transcriptions of improvisations, which she edits and re-learns as pieces. She is interested in instrumental composition as a storytelling medium, the forced narrative of the linear experience of performance, and melodies that focus on the intersection between contemporary classical music, progressive rock, and free jazz.
