Korea Town BIA Presents the First-Ever Korea Town Street Festival

Toronto, ON – July 10, 2024 – The Korea Town BIA is thrilled to announce the inaugural Korea Town Cultural Street Festival, a vibrant celebration of Korean culture, community, and culinary delights. The festival will take place on Aug 10, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, transforming Korea Town into a bustling hub of activities, performances, and experiences for all ages.

Event Highlights:

Special Guests and Performances: The festival will feature performances by renowned Korean artists and local talent, bringing the spirit of Korea to the streets of Toronto. Don't miss the outstanding traditional Korean Dancer, Jianna (Jihyun) Back, and traditional drumming performance by Samulnori Canada. Music performances include The Heavyweights Brass Band, Ryan Gazzola, jazz/korean world fusion band Haneum, and more, that will captivate audiences of all ages.

Food & Beverage: Savor the flavours of Korea Town by visiting our member businesses and vendors on-site. Come and taste unique modern items like Matcha with Nut Cream and Four Season with Pistachio Nut Cream beverages.

Interactive Experiences:

Family Fun: Engage in family-friendly activities including Korean games, face painting, and a kids' activity zone.

Free Singing Bowl Demonstrations: Experience the soothing sounds of Tibetan singing bowls by Tibetan Paper & Handicraft at 5:30pm, 6:30pm, 7:30pm, and 8:30pm.

Free ASMR Experience: Recharge with a complimentary 10-minute Express ASMR Session and try your luck at the prize wheel for a chance to win a free 60-minute session at the ASMR studio and other fun ASMR-themed treats.

Free Sewing Machine Tryouts: Try your hand at machine sewing with minimal guidance, take home your fabric sample, and explore other sewing projects and workshops. Free temporary tattoos featuring a lightning-bolt-sewing-needle logo will also be available.

Fitness Activities: Participate in free fitness activities including a punching machine, kids and adult demonstrations, pad sessions, and a "how to lift" workshop.

Location and Accessibility: The festival will take place on Euclid Ave, from Bloor St W, to Oscar Ryan Lane, which will be pedestrian-only for the duration of the event. Public transportation is highly encouraged, with Christie Pits Station just a short walk away. Limited street parking may be available.
