Kintsugi: The Art of Precious Scars

Kintsugi, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold dating back to the fifteenth century. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.

In an age that worships youth, perfection and the new, the art of Kintsugi retains a particular wisdom - as applicable to our own lives as it is to a broken bowl. The care and love expended on the shattered pots should lend us the confidence to respect what is damaged and scarred, vulnerable and imperfect - starting with ourselves and those around us.

This exceptional cast will apply the philosophy of treasuring our scars and flaws to see the beauty in who we are, by working directly from ideas suggested by the audience to spontaneously create a unique comedy piece.

Thought-provoking, moving, and imperfect, this show is a must see.
