Hemingway's debut EP on Cosmic Resonance Records is a musical memoir. The sounds you’ll hear are drawn from projects created as far back as 2011 and as recently as 2017. The music has evolved over the years, from yacht-funk playfulness to the exploration of cosmic jazz. One constant throughout, though, has been Hemingway’s reverence and love for the dance floor and dance music culture, specifically in Toronto's west end. To bring this broad spectrum of musical creativity together, Hemingway enlisted the help of his longtime friend (and now label-mate), Chris Evans, to weave improvised guitar unicorns (guitarnicorns) throughout. The result is an album that fuses jazz, funk, disco, balearica, pysch-rock and Amazonian spirituality into one cosmically resonant vibe.

Founded in 2016, Cosmic Resonance is a vinyl-centric Toronto label showcasing artists who explore the frontiers of contemporary jazz, funk and electronic music. Lead by musician/DJ/producers James Harris and Chris Evans, Cosmic Resonance seeks to realize the creative potential of forward-thinking Toronto-based talent using dance-focused events, vinyl productions and collaborative musical happenings, both studio-based and live.
