Hansel & Gretel, Engelbert Humperdinck’s fairytale opera, gets a fresh interpretation in this new, Canadian-led production directed by boundary-pushing director Joel Ivany of Against the Grain Theatre.

Hansel & Gretel transports the title characters from a wooded forest to modern-day Toronto, and explores themes of class disparity and environmental sustainability, in a reimagining of the Brothers Grimm fairytale, utilizing new technology to create enchanting visual delights.

All performances take place at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts (145 Queen St. W., at University Avenue). Regularly priced single tickets range from $35 – $225, and box seats, when available, are $350. Specially priced $22 tickets are available for people under the age of 30.
