Half Moon Run with special guest Plants and Animals
Making their Massey Hall debut, Half Moon Run balances restless indie, pop and folk with delicate guitar lines, warm electonica and vocal harmonies that demand attention. Their rise to critical acclaim and widespread fandom – SOCAN gave the group their International Achievement award in 2014 – came quickly in the wake of their 2012 debut, Dark Eyes, which featured two hits at BBC One, over 125,000 album sales, 25 million Spotify streams and 7.5 million video views on Facebook. The band has toured relentlessly, including slots alongside Mumford & Sons, Metric and Patrick Watson. Their second album, 2015’s Sun Leads Me On, landed on the Polaris Music Prize Long List and garnered the group a JUNO nod for Breakthrough Group.
Plants and Animals’ breakthrough third album, 2008’s Parc Avenue – named for the “crooked” apartment where they holed up to record – was short-listed for the Polaris Music Prize, nominated for two JUNO Awards (Alternative Album and New Group) and fuelled five years of growing acclaim and audiences. 2016’s Waltzed In From the Rumbling is their first album in nearly four years, one that Pitchfork called “their most beautiful.”
Half Moon Run has partnered with Plus One to add $1 to each of their concert tickets to go to the Native Youth Sexual Health Network.
