Join author and illustrator Anu Chouhan for the highly anticipated Toronto launch of Hair Oil Magic, a beautifully illustrated picture book that celebrates the cherished tradition of hair oiling and the special connection between parent and child. The event will take place on October 25th, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Type Books Junction, co-hosted by The Kollective, a creative agency and production company based in Toronto.

The evening will include a Q&A session hosted by Toronto-based filmmaker and actor Kiran Rai (KayRay), followed by a live reading of Hair Oil Magic by Anu Chouhan, and a book signing. Guests can purchase Hair Oil Magic along with other books and exclusive prints by the author at the event.

Hair Oil Magic tells the story of Meenu, a little girl who loves "Magic Hair Days," when her mother massages fragrant oils into her hair, leaving her with a warm and magical feeling. One day, Meenu tries mixing the oils herself, only to realize that the magic is missing. But when her mother helps, Meenu learns that the true magic lies in the loving bond they share, not just in the oils.
