Georgia O'Keeffe at the AGO

This spring the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) welcomes Georgia O’Keeffe, the largest retrospective of work by this pioneering American artist ever mounted in Canada. Featuring over 80 works, including the renowned flower paintings Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1 (1932) and Oriental Poppies (1927), this revealing exhibition charts six decades in the career of one of America’s most celebrated painters. Showcasing everything from New York skyscrapers to the vistas of New Mexico, the exhibition also explores O’Keeffe’s engagement with photography, including iconic works by Alfred Stieglitz, Paul Strand, Ansel Adams and Arnold Newman, as well as O’Keeffe’s lesser-known experimentations in abstract art. Toronto will be the only North American stop for the exhibition.

Special programming will complement the exhibition experience, including talks, special FRANK menu items, family activities and an extensive selection of themed adult art courses, including an array of flower-themed classes in honour of the late artist’s famed motif.
