GALLERY OF MEMORIES

Set against the backdrop of Nuit Blanche, the Gallery of Memories: What’s At Stake For 2SLGBTQI People Living with Dementia is an immersive audio-visual gallery open to the public at the Museum of Contemporary Art from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am on October 5, 2024. Visitors will witness a powerful fusion of personal imagery and evocative memories that emphasize the critical importance of preserving queer history in the face of cognitive decline.

Featuring evocative stories from 10 diverse 2SLGBTQI older adults who share the personal memories they want to remember, these stories underscore the urgent need for inclusive, tailored healthcare that protects both identity and dignity. Witness firsthand the fears, hopes, and memories of those who have spent lifetimes fighting for their identities, only to face the possibility of forgetting who they've become.
