May 28, 2019 is Menstrual Hygiene Day, an initiative that highlights the importance of positive, healthy and equitable period experiences for all. The Period Purse will commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day with the inaugural Fundraiser. Period. event in downtown Toronto.
In the morning of May 28, Mayor John Tory will kick things off, proclaiming the city's second Menstrual Hygiene Day. In the evening, following this historic announcement, the community will unite at Fundraiser. Period. We will rally together to support marginalized menstruators across Ontario and reduce the stigma surrounding periods. All event proceeds will support The Period Purse's mission and vision.
Fundraiser. Period. will include:
- An opportunity to have your portrait taken, care of Ranna Asha Photography
- A stand-up performance from Natalie Norman, Toronto comedian and host of The Crimson Wave podcast
- A silent auction with must-have items
- An on-site marketplace with jewellery, tea and period-positivity swag & more!
