Frontrunner: A Comedy Competition
And they’re off!
Bad Dog’s newest unscripted Friday-night comedy sets eight improvisers up against each other in a hilarious race to the finish. After each round of scenes, the performers at the back of the pack are eliminated from the show until only one remains and the frontrunner becomes the champion. Audience applause decides who will take the purse each week. (Yes, that’s right, they’re playing for cold, hard cash.)
FRONTRUNNER’s excellent rotating cast includes: Adam Cawley (CBC’s Working Moms, Second City mainstage), Leigh Cameron (Second City mainstage, Globehead champions: the Bloody Mary’s), Daniel Maslany (CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries & Four in the Morning), Nicole Passmore (The One, La Grande Jatte, Second City HouseCo.), Guled Abdi (OFF-JFL, Tallboyz II Men), Anders Yates (Uncalled For, Bad Dog Repertory Players), Alessandra Vite (head writer: Sunday Night Live, writer: CBC’s Because News), Daphney Joseph (Coko & Daphney, Second City EdCo.), Monica Garrido (The Cunning Linguist/Buddies in Bad Times Emerging Creators’ Unit), Shane McLean (Vancouver’s Little Mountain Improv & Blind Tiger Comedy), Brennan Asbridge (The Harold Experience/Next Stage Festival), Isaac Luy (Guayoyo Collective, director of Los Improvables), Gavin Williams (Calgary’s Loose Moose Theatre Co., The Cheeky Chappies), Callum Wratten (The Beaverton, Public Works) and Kevin Williams (The Skullz, Theatresports)
