Based on real-life events, the film tells the story of Dublin journalist Veronica Guerin, a relentless crime reporter for The Sunday Independent during the early '90s. In 1994, Guerin--who had previously been reporting corporate corruption and church scandals--turned her attention to Ireland's increasing drug problem.
