THE FANCY BRAIN SHOW: POORLY PUT TOGETHER
Rabbit's clever," said Pooh thoughtfully.
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit's clever."
"And he has Brain."
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit has Brain."
There was a long silence.
"I suppose," said Pooh, "that that's why he never understands anything.
- A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
Francis Brian Shaw is, by most accounts, a smart person. With an advanced education in engineering, an above-average IQ and a passion for science and philosophical thought, one could even fault him for being too smart. But, after 5 years of performing in numerous major cities across Canada and the US including 2 years and over 400 shows in his home city of Vancouver, BC as both a comedian and story-teller, he can be safely described as a funny man with a brain; albeit one that has been warped.
From his graduation of engineering school at age 22 to receiving an epilepsy diagnosis at age 23 to a fateful encounter with a blind date at age 27, this one-man show represents the retrospective personal journey of a confused boy faced with strange circumstances and an even stranger way of looking at the world. Prepare for plenty of laughs, a lot of yelling, and possibly some poorly delivered poetry.
This show will be making its official debut 6-show run as part in the London Fringe at the beginning of June 2014 but as a special sneak-preview, it will be presented in Toronto one-night only.
