Foster Care Unraveled: Exclusive Screening, Panel, and Networking Night

StepStones for Youth, a local charity helping youth in and from the foster care system, is excited to invite you for a FREE film screening and reception on October 21 at Innis Town Hall.

"Foster" (2018) is a revealing first-hand look at the foster care system, as seen through the eyes of young people within the system and those working tirelessly to support them. Oscar-winning filmmakers Mark Jonathan Harris and Deborah Oppenheimer collaborate on this riveting documentary to provide a close-up look at the foster care system and its impacts on the lives of children, young adults, and families.

Following the screening, there will be a moderated discussion featuring the creators of Foster, Mark Jonathan Harris (3x Oscar-winning director) and Deborah Oppenheimer (Oscar-winning producer), as well as Jessica Chandler (a prominent social worker featured in the film). We hope to engage the audience in a thought-provoking discussion on the foster care system in Canada and the challenges faced by young people exiting care.
