Food Truck'N Friday gives back to the community

In the spirit of the holidays, Food Truck'N Friday has announced that it will be partnering with the Canadian Lithuanian Youth Association on Friday October 16 to raise funds for Youth Without Shelter, an emergency residence for homeless youth in Toronto.

The bi-weekly food truck event, which takes place in the vacant parking lot on the corner of Bloor St. W. and Resurrection Road, just west of Islington subway station, will once again welcome the GTA's top mobile kitchens to Etobicoke this Friday. But while past events focused solely on delicious curbside eats, this week's Food Truck'N Friday will also aim to raise money for those in need with a baked goods and coffee stand run by the Canadian Lithuanian Youth Association. All proceeds from the stand will be donated to Youth Without Shelter.

“With Thanksgiving having just passed and Christmas right around the corner, there's no better time to spread goodwill and support such a great organization than right now,” says Jason Bellissimo, founder of Food Truck'N Friday and Director of Sales & Marketing at J.B. Innovative Solutions Inc. “We are so proud to be partnering with the Canadian Lithuanian Youth Association, which has done amazing work for our local community. And as we've said from day one, Food Truck'N Friday is all about bringing our community together.”

Dubbed as a community event since its launch in July 2015, Food Truck'N Friday prides itself on its partnerships with local business, which range from beauty salons and banks to fitness gyms and condo developers. This week, Humberview Chevrolet will be returning as a community sponsor, lending its support and showcasing a few of its vehicles on site. As Toronto's top Chevrolet dealer and one of the most successful in all of Canada, Humberview Chevrolet offers a wide range of new and used Chevrolet cars, trucks and SUVs.

“As Etobicoke's premier food truck event, we strongly believe in the importance of community and see the value in reaching out to local businesses and organizations,” adds Bellissimo. “By working alongside partners like the Canadian Lithuanian Youth Association and Humberview Chevrolet, we're doing much more than just gaining their support - we're building long-lasting relationships that make us better, week after week.”

Food Truck'N Friday will be back this Friday, October 16 with a new lineup of food trucks that includes: Untamed Chef, Che, Fidel Gastro's, Road Grill, Vesta Lunch on Wheels, La Novela, Rome'N Chariot, and Sugar Mamma's Mini Donuts. The event takes place, rain or shine, from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the corner of Bloor St. W. and Resurrection Road in Etobicoke. Admission is free.
