Food Truck’N Friday announces autumn dates
Etobicoke’s premier food truck event extends its run through October
Etobicoke, ON – September 29, 2015 – After a successful summer run that took Etobicoke by storm, Food Truck’N Friday has announced that it will extend its autumn dates through October.
The premier food truck event, which first launched on July 10, 2015, will be bringing the GTA’s best curbside eats to the heart of Etobicoke throughout the month on October 2, 16 and 30. Much to the delight of foodies everywhere, the event will take place rain or shine in the vacant parking lot at the corner of Bloor Street West and Resurrection Road, just west of Islington subway station.
What started out as a modest gathering of mobile kitchens has quickly grown to include a full lineup of good food and entertainment. This Friday, October 2 will be its biggest event to date, featuring 11 food trucks and carts, music by resident DJ, Johnny Batts, and kid-friendly entertainment courtesy of balloon artist Mr. Twister.
Featured vendors for October 2 include: Road Grill, Sugar Mamma’s Mini Donuts, Untamed Chef, Dolcella Gelato, Gourmet Roasters, Food Cabbie, La Novella, Localista, Vesta Lunch on Wheels, Mustache Burger, and Rome’N Chariot.
With the exception of Mustache Burger, which will be making its debut at Food Truck’N Friday, all featured trucks are repeat vendors, some making their third and even fourth appearances. According to Jason Bellissimo, Founder of Food Truck’N Friday and Director of Sales & Marketing at J.B. Innovative Solutions Inc., this speaks to how supportive the food truck community has been.
“We could never have grown this quickly and become this successful without the support of our food truck partners,” he says. “These talented chefs bring much more than just great food each week. They bring so much positive energy, enthusiasm and such joy for food. It’s infectious, and makes us want to grow and be better with each passing week.”
This growth, according to Bellissimo, can also be attributed to valued community sponsors, local businesses that range from condo developers and beauty salons to fitness gyms and banks. Lending their support this Friday October 2 will be Holy Cannoli Shells & Cream, makers of decadent Italian cannolis, and San Remo Bakery, a popular Italian bakery that’s been in business since 1969.
“Our community partners make it possible for us to operate on a higher level,” adds Bellissimo. “They also help us bring the community together, which was our goal to begin with. As a resident of Etobicoke myself, I really wanted to create a sense of community and there’s no better way to do that than by working with the city’s top businesses.”
