Food Truck'N Friday

The summer season may be winding down, but Food Truck’N Friday continues to heat up with three jam-packed events in September.

This Friday, September 2nd, 11 of southern Ontario’s top food trucks will once again be converging in Etobicoke to dish out everything from stuffed chicken wings and gourmet vegan food to authentic Venezuelan arepas and Indian fusion eats. In addition to returning fan favourites, two trucks will be making their Food Truck’N Friday debuts: TDots Naan Sense and The Vegan Extremist.

Rounding out the September 2nd lineup are: Wafel Bar, Untamed Chef, Heirloom, Fully Loaded T.O., Wickedly Sinful, Food Dudes, Road Grill, The Arepa Republic, and Dolcella Gelato.

If that weren’t enough to make mouths water, newly added community partner Eatalian will also be on site to offer tasty samples and sell their freshly prepared meals and products. Located in the food-centric neighbourhood of Bloor Street West, Eatalian prides itself on its fresh, authentic pastas, made from recipes handed down from generations past.

“Having Eatalian on site at Food Truck’N Friday is the perfect complement to what will surely be a fun-filled night of good food and great friends,” says Jason Bellissimo, Director of Sales & Marketing of J.B. Innovative Solutions Inc., and Founder of Food Truck’N Friday. “What could be better than indulging in an epic feast, courtesy of Ontario’s finest food trucks, then taking one of Eatalian’s deliciously prepared meals home with you to enjoy the next day? With Eatalian as a valued partner, we’ve found a way to extend the Food Truck’N Friday experience for everyone.”

Following September 2nd, Food Truck’N Friday will round out the month with two additional dates: September 16 and September 30. As a bi-weekly event, scheduled dates will run well into the fall season, with the final date scheduled for Friday, November 25.

However, there could be additional dates for the remainder of the year, says Bellissimo. After hosting successful events at Humberview Chevrolet on July 15 and D.O.T. Furniture on August 12-13, Food Truck’N Friday is currently in talks with several companies and businesses to potentially host events this fall and possibly next year.

“The goal moving into next season will be to remain at our primary residence in Etobicoke at Bloor Street West and Resurrection Road every second week, but also fill in alternative Fridays with special one-off events in other communities,” adds Bellissimo. “It’s a very exciting time for us, the sky’s the limit. You'll be seeing much more of Food Truck’N Friday in the months to come.”

Food Truck’N Friday is free to attend and takes place bi-weekly, rain or shine, in the parking lot at Bloor St. W. and Resurrection Road, just west of Islington subway station. The September 2nd event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. and lasts until 10:00 p.m. Plenty of free parking is available.
