Food Truck'N For The Cure
Food Truck’N Friday, Toronto’s premier food truck event, is teaming up with the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure to host its first-ever spin-off event: Food Truck’N For The Cure, a one-day-only food truck bonanza featuring good eats, live music and plenty of fun!
Taking place on Saturday September 15 at 1 Resurrection Road, just west of Islington subway station, the all-day event aims to increase breast cancer awareness, with a portion of proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS). CIBC Run for the Cure, now in its 26th year, is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause.
“We are so honoured to take part in such an important cause, and to partner with such amazing organizations as CIBC Run for the Cure and the Canadian Cancer Society,” said Jason Bellissimo, Founder of Food Truck’N Friday. “Cancer has impacted so many of us, and although we’ve yet to find a cure, through initiatives like this we can do our part – however small it may be – to support the fight to find one.”
Food trucks participating in the event include*:
- Alijandro’s Kitchen
- Gourmet Guyz
- Spring Loaded
- The Arepa Republic
- Get Your Own Taters
- El Callejon Del Taco
- Mustache Burger
- Eva’s Original Chimney’s
- The Crane Express
In addition, several vendors will be on site including Phancy Food Catering and Wakeup Espresso, plus music and entertainment will be provided by DJ Machado, resident balloon artist ‘Fun With A Twist’, and local brass band ‘Hot Sauce Horns’.
Food Truck’N For The Cure takes place rain or shine in the parking lot at Bloor Street West and Resurrection Road. The event is free to attend and runs from 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Plenty of free parking is available.
