Food as Community
Please join us virtually or in person for our first ever Food as Community episode on the evening of September 13th at 7:00 pm EDT. Food as Community is a fun-filled opportunity for our community to reconnect over food and to support BFO's work.
Food as Community is a series of hybrid cooking demonstrations, curating a wide range of culturally inspired meals and desserts, while reconnecting our communities through the of sharing cooking tips and expertise, in a time we need it most!
Food connects communities. Food is a conduit that can reduce isolation, provoke memories and connections to our loved ones, and improve our cognitive, emotional, social and physical wellbeing. Join us in celebrating Food as Community while raising funds to address unprecedented grief and trauma in our communities!
The Centre for Grief and Healing is proud to launch our first ever episode with Chef Phil DeWar, a well-known community activist and a Caribbean heritage ambassador. He will teach us how to cook Seared Cod Loin & citrus salsa, with harvest veggie spaghetti squash + cranberry & balsamic brussels sprouts.
