Female Founders in Tech: International Women's Day Panel
Figure 1 is proud to celebrate female founders in tech. This International Women's Day, we are hosting a panel with women who have built their startups from the ground up. Join us on March 8, 2017 to meet them and listen to their compelling stories.
The panel will be moderated by Nagar Rahmani of Kensington Capital Partners, one of Canada's leading venture capital firms.
Meet the panelists:
Chakameh Shafii is an engineer turned social entrepreneur with a passion for impact and change. She graduated from University of Toronto Engineering and worked for a Fortune 500 company before starting TranQool.
Jen Evans is a serial entrepreneur focused on developing innovative products and companies that service the new B2B marketer. She is the co-founder of the Sequentia Group, SqueezeCMM (acq 2015), Bottage, Digital Fieldwork (acq 2015) and B2B News Network.
Lisa Mattam is the founder and president of Sahajan, an Ayurvedic natural skin and haircare company. In 2009, Profit Magazine ranked Lisa as one of the top emerging women entrepreneurs in Canada and, in 2011, the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce named Lisa its Female Entrepreneur of the Year.
Catherine Graham is the CEO of commonsku and the president of RIGHTSLEEVE. She has a MBA from the Rotman School of Management, and has a particular passion for supporting female entrepreneurs in the tech space.
Admission:
In lieu of tickets, we ask that attendees bring feminine hygiene products (pads, tampons, etc.) or a cash donation of whatever amount you choose (we suggest five dollars). All proceeds will be donated to The Period Project, a local not-for-profit focused on providing menstruation products and other care items to Toronto people experiencing homelessness.
