Front of the House
To ensure customer satisfaction by offering the highest caliber of service to the hotel guest on arrival and departure and throughout the length of the guest stay.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Department Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Valet Parking Attendant (Casual & Full-Time)

Greet all guests and co-workers with a smile and an appropriate hospitality greeting
-
To be noticeably positioned at entrances to provide parking assistance upon arrival, and departure of guest vehicles.

Greets all guests arriving by vehicle, and promotes valet parking as only hotel related parking option or clearly directs guest to appropriate public parking service if they prefer
-
Ensures all vehicle keys are clearly identified and stored in a locked location
-
Will provide the guest with detailed parking fees and clear explanation of valet benefits
-
Ensures all entrance areas are free and clear from congestion for arrivals and departures of vehicles by ensuring all cars are parked in an expedient manner.
-
Complete thorough walk around of guests vehicles prior to entering garage and highlights any damage on corresponding valet parking ticket
-
When requested or anticipated will provide guests with information and answers to questions about Hotel facilities, meeting functions, dining facilities, local transportation alternatives, and tourist attractions.

Provide the removal of items from stored vehicles if required, and other miscellaneous services requested by the guest or supervisor in a timely manner
-
Assists in fire alarms by fulfilling duties as outlined in the hotel fire response manual.

Assist in ensuring guest and co-worker safety and security by reporting any suspicious or unusual behavior or occurrence to the appropriate supervisor on duty, and informing security.

Strict adherence to Fairmont Service Standard Expectations as it relates to Valet Parking

In the course of normal duties, to observe, report, or take immediate corrective action on deficiencies, malfunctions, and untidiness.

To report for duty with a professional appearance and dress to standards.

Banquet Server (Casual):

Arrive on duty on time with proper attire and prepared for shift
-
Continuously maintain all areas tidy and neat at all times
-
Conduct yourself in an orderly and respectful manner at all times as to offer competitive hospitality services as a way to exceed all guest expectations
-
To be hospitable, friendly and converse and welcome all guests
-
Using trays at all times, clear all necessary dishes and other items when entering and exiting the banquet room
-
All tables must be setup according to standards as directed by the Banquet Manager as a way to maintain consistency throughout the hotel
-
Keep liners neat, tidy, clean and well pressed and must not have any deficiencies
-
Must know the hotel areas and outlets to be credible when responding to guests requests as a way to upsell the facilities and what the hotel has to offer
-
Maintain good eye contact and personal service when interacting with all guests
-
To be knowledgeable of the menu before service begins so that any questions may be responded to in an effective and efficient manner
-
Conduct themselves within all policies of the hotel, which are set forth through the Human Resources department and the Hotel
-
To have complete knowledge of all tasks and the methods of service of all banquet setups
-
Understand and carry out all banquet event orders
-
Ensure all allergies are safely catered for with an alternative that meets the needs of the guest.

Follow up on any guests requests

Assistant Server (Part-Time):
-
To report for duty punctually, in full uniform according to appearance and grooming standards.
-
To promote and maintain a positive working relationship at all time with all the Colleagues of the Royal York Hotel.
-
To prepare serving stations and work areas for each meal period
-
Assist with the smooth execution of meal service during peak times
-
Offer continued support in preparation for the next meal period
-
To demonstrate a complete understanding of the policies, procedures and set service standards as outlined in the Royal York Colleague Handbook.
-
To demonstrate a complete knowledge and understanding of all steps of services and duties and perform them to the set standards as out lined in the Job Task Checklist.
-
To assist all Guests (internal and external) with any inquiries or requests in a pleasant, helpful manner.
-
To follow all of safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
-
Attend pre-shift, weekly and monthly meetings to continually improve the guest’s experience.
-
To understand how to operate all the equipment used in the outlet.
-
To fully understand and follow the hotel’s recycling program and procedures.
-
To actively participate in all health and safety procedures for the Hotel.
-
To follow all of safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
-
Carrying out any miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as requested by your Manager pertaining to total quality service

Physical Aspects of Position include but are not limited to the following:

Visa Requirements: Must already be legally permitted to work in Canada.
