The EW Reading Series Presents Opinionated October!

Writers are so opinionated--and we love it! Come celebrate Thanksgiving Day with readings from Canada's best emerging writers. We have a new start time! Doors open at 6:30p and readings begin at 7:00p. Here are the writers keeping our minds sharp this OPINIONATED OCTOBER:

MIGUEL LEANDRO GAMBOA 
Miguel is a writer from Baliuag, Bulacan. He is a candidate of the University of Guelph MFA Creative Writing program and is a host of Speakeasy Reading Series. 

KATE FINEGAN
Kate Finegan has a short story chapbook forthcoming with Penrose Press in November 2018. Her work has won contests with Thresholds, Phoebe Journal, Midwestern Gothic, and The Fiddlehead, among others.

CARLA HARTENBERGER
Carla Hartenberger lives and writes in Toronto. She completed her B.F.A. in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia and her M.A. in Public Policy and Administration at Ryerson University. 

DANNY MCLAREN
Danny is a non-binary writer who explores gender, sexuality, and intersectionality in their writing and studies. They are an editor and co-founder of Alien Pub Arts and Culture Magazine.

OBIM OKONGWU
Obim lives in Toronto, an emerging writer whose work has appeared in The New Quarterly. He is also an impact investment consultant; his reflections on social issues fuel his writing.

The EW Reading Series is dedicated to the professionally serious writer who has not yet published a book. Our readers have gone on to win awards, place their work, publish books, and gain further recognition as the up-and-coming writers of Canada. EW is committed to establishing a space that is safe and welcome to writers and audience members from underrepresented communities and we encourage you to write to us if you wish to join as a reader. We are happy to answer any questions about how we are creating this space and welcome feedback on how to be more inclusive.
