Entrepreneurship 101 - 2014/2015
Course Description:
Interested in learning more about entrepreneurship? Looking to start a new venture? Look no further! MaRS offers a free, non-credit introductory course on entrepreneurship that introduces individuals to the nuts and bolts of building a business.
Available in person and by live webcast, Entrepreneurship 101 is MaRS’ flagship free weekly lecture series featuring enlightening lectures on key topics related to starting a successful business, aimed at social innovators, technology and life sciences researchers and trainees.
Entrepreneurship 101 lectures cover a diverse range of introductory business topics including funding your business, marketing, recruiting, intellectual property and more.
Special lectures include:
‘Lived It Lectures’ feature celebrated entrepreneurs and their success stories and challenges.
‘Meet the Entrepreneurs’ are panel sessions during which entrepreneurs from different sectors discuss the challenges and opportunities they face as they grow their businesses. These events have networking opportunities after the panel session for entrepreneurs in each sector.
This non-credit course is designed to introduce members of the research and academic community to issues relating to starting and growing a business. It is especially aimed at graduate students, post-docs, faculty, technicians and others active in research in a scientific or engineering discipline, those who have an interest in creating a company to exploit the results of their research, and those interested in social innovation.
NOTE: You only need to register once at ANY time for the whole lecture series. Email confirmations are dated September 24, 2014 and are good until May 6, 2015. See below for registration details.
Please arrive early at each session to be sure of a seat. If you wish to have your attendance recorded in order to attain a course certificate, please note that attendance registration will end at 6:15 p.m.
